ARX Robotics, a German defence tech startup and Europe’s leading startup in unmanned autonomous land systems announces the opening of Europe’s largest production facility for military robotic systems in the Munich metropolitan region. With the opening of its new facility, ARX Robotics can now produce autonomous military robotic systems at scale.

"

The opening of our new facility is a major milestone for us - not only with regards to the company's mission but in the light of our strong commitment to support Ukraine", said Marc Wietfeld, co-founder and CEO of Arx Robotics “European armed forces face a structural disadvantage in mass of personnel and equipment compared to potential adversaries. Unmanned systems have the potential to bridge this capability gap—provided they can be produced at scale. Our new facility represents a significant step toward achieving this goal, enhancing Europe’s strategic autonomy and defense resilience.

The Official inauguration of the production plant took place in the presence of Members of the German Bundestag Florian Hahn (CSU) and Dr. Andreas Lenz (CSU). Their participation highlights the political and strategic importance of autonomous military systems in strengthening European defence capabilities and ensuring technological leadership in the evolving security landscape. This milestone marks ARX Robotics’ transition into the scale-up phase, enabling large-scale production of autonomous military robotic systems for the first time.

"Innovation needs courage and support - we must take responsibility", said Florian Hahn, Member of the German Bundestag (CSU). “Germany’s role in European security is shaped by its forward-thinking companies, especially in fields like software-defined defense and artificial intelligence"

With the new facility now operational, ARX Robotics is poised to further expand its manufacturing capabilities, forge new defence partnerships, and drive continued innovation in autonomous military systems. It marks a significant step toward strengthening global defence capabilities, ensuring that allied forces have access to cutting-edge robotic solutions to meet evolving security challenges.

Over the past 6 months, ARX Robotics has increased its production capacity unmanned systems to 30 times its previous level, enabling large-scale manufacturing at an unprecedented rate. This expansion solidifies ARX Robotics’ position as a key player in military robotics manufacturing, strengthening its ability to support defence forces with advanced, scalable solutions.

ARX Robotics has also achieved another major milestone with the largest deployment of Western-designed unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in Ukraine. This underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening European and global security by providing advanced autonomous systems that enhance operational capabilities on the battlefield. The delivery further demonstrates ARX Robotics’ ability to supply mission-critical technology at scale, supporting allied nations in addressing modern defence challenges.

"

What we see here today is not only technical and economic excellence but real military understanding
